Privacy Policy

Your trust matters. This policy explains what information we collect when you use The Nile Guide, why we collect it, how it is protected, and the choices you have over your data.

01

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to confirm bookings, support travellers, and improve the platform:

  • Identity: your name and the names of guests in your party.
  • Contact: email address and phone number for booking communication.
  • Booking details: dates, destination, experience type, special requests.
  • Payment information: handled securely by our payment partners — full card numbers never reach our servers.
  • Preferences: saved cruises, language, and other settings that personalise your experience.
  • Device & usage data: basic information about how you interact with the platform, used to improve performance.
02

How we use information

Information you share is used to:

  • Manage and confirm your bookings with operators.
  • Provide customer support before, during, and after your journey.
  • Send essential booking updates such as confirmations, reminders, and changes.
  • Improve our services, listings, and editorial guides.
  • Detect and prevent fraud or misuse of the platform.
03

Payments

Payments are processed by trusted third-party providers using industry-standard encryption. The Nile Guide does not store full payment card numbers. Payment partners handle card data in line with their own privacy and security obligations.

04

Communication

Travellers may receive messages from us, including:

  • Booking confirmations and itinerary updates.
  • Trip-day reminders and operator contact details.
  • Customer support messages relating to your bookings.
  • Occasional editorial updates if you opt in to our newsletter — you can unsubscribe at any time.
05

Sharing information

We share information only when necessary to deliver your booking or operate the platform:

  • With operators, to honour your confirmed booking.
  • With payment providers, to process and verify transactions.
  • With trusted service providers (email delivery, analytics, infrastructure) bound by confidentiality.
  • Where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

We never sell your personal information.

06

Data protection

The Nile Guide uses modern security practices to protect customer information, including encrypted connections, restricted access controls, and routine monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to reduce risk and respond quickly if an incident occurs.

07

Your rights & choices

Depending on your location you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, including marketing communications.
To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@thenileguide.com from the email address associated with your account.
08

Account deletion

You can request deletion of your account at any time. We may retain certain records (for example, booking history or financial records) where required by law or to resolve disputes. Once retention obligations expire, the remaining data is permanently removed.

09
