Partner Terms

These terms govern the relationship between The Nile Guide and the independent operators who list their Nile experiences on our marketplace. They reflect the quality, transparency, and traveller-first standards that define the platform.

Partner relationship

The Nile Guide provides a curated marketplace through which approved operators list and sell their Nile experiences to international travellers. Operators remain independent businesses responsible for the delivery, safety, and quality of their experiences. The Nile Guide handles discovery, booking, payment, and traveller support.

Operator responsibilities

Every partner operator commits to providing:

  • Accurate descriptions of vessels, cabins, routes, and inclusions.
  • Real, recent photography that fairly represents the experience.
  • Up-to-date availability so travellers can book with confidence.
  • Correct, transparent pricing with no hidden surcharges.
  • Professional, attentive service from booking confirmation through disembarkation.
  • A safe environment, including required safety equipment, trained crew, and adherence to maritime regulations.

Nile Verified™

Nile Verified™ is our quality standard. It indicates an operator has met our checks across vessel documentation, safety, photography, pricing transparency, and traveller experience.

  • Verification is reviewed periodically and may be revised if standards slip.
  • New listings begin as unverified and progress through onboarding before the badge is awarded.
  • Verification status is visible to travellers and contributes to ranking on the platform.

Booking commitments

By accepting bookings through the platform, operators agree to:

  • Honour every confirmed booking on the agreed dates and at the agreed price.
  • Keep availability calendars current to avoid conflicts and disappointed travellers.
  • Respond to booking requests and traveller messages promptly and professionally.
  • Notify The Nile Guide immediately of any incident that may affect a traveller or a confirmed booking.

Payments & commission

The Nile Guide may receive a commission from completed bookings, agreed with each operator in advance. Payouts are processed on a regular schedule following the successful completion of an experience and subject to any agreed refund handling.

Specific commission rates, payout currencies, and timing are confirmed in your individual partner agreement and visible in the operator dashboard.

Quality standards

Operators are expected to maintain consistently high standards across:

  • Guest satisfaction — measured through reviews, support tickets, and resolution time.
  • Reliability — minimal cancellations, accurate availability, on-time departures.
  • Honesty — listings match what travellers experience on board.
  • Communication — timely, professional responses across all channels.

Reviews & ranking

Verified traveller reviews influence each listing's ranking, visibility, and Nile Verified™ status. The Nile Guide does not edit reviews on an operator's behalf, but we will remove content that violates our community guidelines or that we reasonably believe to be inauthentic.

Content & branding

Operators grant The Nile Guide a non-exclusive licence to display submitted photography, descriptions, and listing content for the purpose of marketing the experience on the platform and in related editorial. Operator brand names and trademarks remain the property of the operator. The Nile Guide brand assets may only be used in line with our brand guidelines.

Account suspension & removal

The Nile Guide may suspend or remove an operator from the platform when quality standards are not met, when there is evidence of misleading listings or unsafe practice, or when partner terms are otherwise materially breached. Where possible we work with operators to address issues before any removal.

Operators may also leave the platform voluntarily, subject to honouring any bookings already confirmed at the date of departure.

Changes to these terms

We may update these partner terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the operator dashboard and by email. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
